Shelly LoRa Add-on – Long-Range Communication Module for Shelly Gen3 & Gen4
Overview
Shelly LoRa Add-on is a long-range communication module designed to extend connectivity for compatible Shelly Gen3 and Gen4 devices using LoRa technology. It enables reliable, low-power communication over distances of up to 5 km (line of sight), making it suitable for applications where Wi-Fi or other short-range technologies are not practical.
The add-on connects directly to supported Shelly devices via the proprietary serial interface and is powered by the host device. It is intended for use cases such as remote buildings, outdoor installations, agricultural systems, and infrastructure automation.
LoRa communication requires at least two Shelly devices, each equipped with a Shelly LoRa Add-on—one acting as the transmitter and one as the receiver.
