Do I need a hub to control my Shelly devices?

No, you do not need a hub to control your Shelly devices.

The Shelly App

Shelly devices are designed to connect to your wireless network so that you can control them via the Shelly app which is available for Android and iOS.

Get it on the App store Get it on Google Play

The app will give you full control over your Shelly devices whilst you’re at home. If you want to control your Shelly devices when you’re not at home, you can still do this via the app by enabling your Shelly device to use the free Shelly Cloud.

Smart Home Compatible

You may already have an existing smart home ecosystem; Shelly deices support Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Home Assistant out of the box.

You can also download the Shelly app from Google Play and the App Store.

APIs and MQTT

If you’re feeling my more tech savy and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you can interact more directly with a Shelly device via a local HTTP API or by using MQTT.

Documentation for the Shelly APIs can be found at shelly-api-docs.shelly.cloud
